Argent Tournament Complete - For Now...

Image
I finally made it as champion of all the horde races on my Bloodelf Paladin. No new quests become available after completing tournament quests for each of the cities, but I guess those will be coming in the next content patch when the Argent Coliseum opens its doors. You do, however, get five achievements all in one hit: After becoming champion of all of your factions races there are no more dailies from the npc's in the horde or alliance tents, the only daily quests left available are the ones to get champions seals. I'm saving all of mine for an Argent Hippogryph , just a hundred or so more to go...

Sha'tari Skyguard Rep Grind - Terrok Down!

Image
I'm continuing the Sha'tari Skyguard rep grind very half heartedly, but this particular quest is one I have wanted to do for a long, long time. Ever since I got my Human priest, my first ever World of Warcraft character, a flying mount. I asked in Dalaran if this Terrok was now soloable and everybody said "you are a Paladin, of course it is soloable!" But I wasn't so sure, the few times I tried this quest with pugs we wiped pretty horribly. But after a fight that lasted a lot longer than it should have done - Terrok Down! I was running around all over the place and he kept becoming immune to everything I threw at him, eventually I realised I had to pull him into the blue smoke, not keep him away from it. Doh! Had I known about the blue smoke trick at the beginning this would have been a fun fight, not as epic as two manning Orbaz Bloodbane, with my Paladin tanking and healing while a destro lock hit him with shadowbolts, but still a really good ques...

Exalted with the Mag'har of Draenor

Image
I finally got exalted with the Mag'har in Nagrind Nagrand on my Bloodelf paladin, after completing all the available Mag'har quests I started grinding beads for the rep hand-ins and the time really did drag, but it was worth it in the end. Behold my Cobalt War Talbuk ! One of the coolest looking mounts in the game for modest price of 80 gold. The only catch being the grind to get to exalted. For some reason Southwind Cleft seemed to have the best drop rate for the beads, not to mention a very fast respawn rate on the mobs. Also, for those of you collecting achievements, hitting exalted with the Mag'har gets you the Mag'har of Draenor achievement which is worth 15 points.

Wyrmrest Red Drake, a Sapph Solo Kill and The Claymore of the Prophet

Image
I really needed cheering up today so I blew pretty much all my spare cash on buying my Bloodelf Paladin the Wyrmrest Accord's Red Drake. The mount cost me 1600g at exalted and I'm currently half regretting my decision to buy this one as, for some reason, I thought it was a 310% mount, but it isn't, the speed is 280% just like my Netherdrakes, which I actually prefer from a cosmetic point of view. This is still a pretty cool mount, you don't see them that often on my server so it certainly isn't a total loss. Below: My first of the three Icecrown Riders quests on my Human Paladin, I always go for Sapph first, The Rider of Frost, as she is the easiest and a pretty good gear check for the second guy. As you can see in the screenshot it was a fairly close run thing, but I didn't have to bubble or use lay on hands. I can go on to kill the The Rider of Blood pretty easily, I'd just have to use lay on hands for that fight. I salute any player or class ...

Greatsword of the Sin'dorei - Argent Tournament Reward

Image
Greatsword of the Sin'dorei - Bought this one recently on both my Paladin and Death Knight, I'm really not sure how this stands up next to the Titansteel Destroyer , but it looks pretty damned impressive. My Paladin is usually prot specced, so this probably won't see a great deal of use, but new purples are always nice, right? My Death Knight already has the Titansteel Destroyer, so I ask the question - Which is better for a Death Knight and a ret Paladin the Titansteel Destroyer or the Greatsword of the Sin'dorei. Enquiring minds want to know. I'd ask in /2 on my server but I don't want to start another flame war.

The Staff of Feral Furies - Argent Tournament Reward

Image
Bought the Argent Tournament's Staff of Feral Furies for my Tauren Druid today, despite the inevitable cries of "hunter weapon". The staff costs 25 champion's seals , so it only take 5 days of doing the champions quests to get the necessary amount. Not a bad tanking staff, could certainly have used some strength on the stats, but you can't have everything I guess. The debate is still raging on my server over which is better, this or the Titansteel Destroyer, but I think I will be sticking to my Titansteel Destroyer for general questing in Cat form. I'm really not sure the armour bonus is worth it since it got nerfed. Here are a couple of screenshots of The Staff of Feral Furies in all its huge glowing glory:
